Body Contouring and Cellulite Reduction

Skin Tightening

This non-invasive treatment delivers tighter skin, renewed facial contours, and healthier collagen. Our incision-free procedure requires no downtime from normal activities and can be used on the face and eyelids, neck, arms, abdomen, hips, thighs, and buttocks. Our experts will either recommend the Accent or Clear Lift treatment series.

Used to firm and tighten loose skin around the body as well as to treat both deep and superficial cellulite, these treatments can create dramatic change without the need for invasive surgery or even topical anesthetics! Heating of the collagen through radio frequency promotes tissue tightening over time and reduces laxity of the skin. An added benefit is that this treatment requires no downtime.

Best performed in a series of 6 treatments of Accent or AWT or combination.

Now there is a way to combat the aging process with Body Reshaping and Skin Tightening. You can revitalize your skin and body shape – without liposuction or other expensive, invasive surgical procedures or injections. It’s treatment called Accent Your Body from Alma Lasers.

  • Tighter, Smoother, Sculpted Skin
  • Virtually Pain-Free
  • Targeted Heat Therapy
  • Visible Results, Cellulite is one of the major nuisances that mainly affect women
  • More than 80% of women of all ages have some degree of cellulite

The process initiates with the enlargement of naturally occurring fat cells that are located in the deeper areas of the skin. The gradual enlargement of these cells will compromise the circulatory system and hinder the regional inflow of the nutrients and the outflow of the waste products. This will cause a gradual stiffening, contraction, and shortening of the surrounding connective tissue, resulting in tight fibrous bands (septae) and the entrapment of the enlarged fat cells and the inward pull of the overlying skin. The eventual outcome will be the creation of a rough, uneven, dimpled, and cottage cheese appearance in the areas of thigh, buttocks, stomach and arms.

Over the last decades, many different diets, exercises and treatment modalities have been used for the treatment of cellulite. By not addressing the main causes of cellulite, most of these measures have demonstrated poor results in the treatment of cellulite. Acoustic Wave Treatment (AWT) is the latest invention that has revolutionized the medical approach to  the treatment of cellulite. This advanced state-of-the-art treatment, performed by using a high-tech equipment called D-Actor, has proven its efficacy in a large number of patients. Furthermore, clinical and medical ultrasound studies have confirmed the therapeutic effects of AWT and the resultant dermal thickening after.

D-actor is a mechanical device and does not use any chemicals, injections or lasers. By generating acoustic pressure waves, Acoustic Wave Therapy addresses all the components responsible for the generation of cellulite.

  • Acoustic Wave Therapy improves the flexibility of the connective tissue
  • Acoustic Wave Therapy breaks up the fibrous bands and releases the attached skin
  • Acoustic Wave Therapy accentuates regeneration of additional blood vessels and enhances the inflow of the nutrients and outflow of waste material
  • Acoustic Wave Therapy initiates the release of healing mediators, enhances fibroblastic activity, and reproduction of new and pliable collagen

As a result of these therapeutic effects, Acoustic Wave Therapy results in a visible firming of the treated areas’ skin and smoothing its’ appearance. Additionally it improves the skin’s texture and elasticity.

Acoustic Wave Therapy is most effective in the areas that are most prone to dimpling of the skin, such as the back of the thighs, buttocks, and arms. Areas where skin laxity is the prominent problem, such as the front of the thighs and abdomen, the response will be more modest and improvement will tend to occur over longer periods of time.

FAQ

Is Cellulite Acoustic Wave Treatment (AWT) safe?

AWT is extremely safe. Theoretically, AWT may predispose a susceptible patient to the risk of deep vein thrombosis or DVT (a blood clot in the leg veins). However, DVT has never been reported in any patient who has been treated with AWT.

How frequently should I be treated with Acoustic Wave Treatment (AWT)?

AWT is performed over a series of typically 6 treatments delivered twice a week over three weeks. Single maintenance treatments will be required every 3 months. The results of the treatment may not be visible until 5 weeks after the 6th treatment session.

Single maintenance treatments will be required every 3 months.

What should I do before undergoing Acoustic Wave Treatment (AWT)?

No specific preparation is required at the time of the procedure.

What should I expect from Acoustic Wave Treatment (AWT)?

To minimize the risk of bruising or bleeding, medications such as aspirin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents (ibuprofen, Naprosyn, etc.), St. John’s Wort, and high doses of Vitamin E supplements should be avoided for one week prior to the treatment.

The length of treatment sessions is approximately 15-30 minutes.

AWT is virtually a painless procedure. Patients will only feel a “thumping” or vibration of the soft tissue in the treated area. No “downtime” is expected.

Follow-up home care instructions will be reviewed. Following treatment, normal activities can be resumed immediately.

What are the results of Acoustic Wave Treatment (AWT)?

AWT results in a visible firming of the treated areas’ skin and smoothing of its’ appearance. Additionally it improves the skin’s texture and elasticity. AWT is most effective in the areas that are most prone to dimpling of the skin, such as the back of the thighs, buttocks, and arms. Areas where skin laxity is the prominent problem, such as the front of the thighs and abdomen, the response will be more modest and improvement will tend to occur over longer periods of time.

How long before I notice the results?

A recent clinical study demonstrated improvement in the following patient categories:

20% at the time of the 3rd treatment, 20% at the time of the 6th treatment, 20% at 3 weeks after the 6th treatment, 20% at 6 weeks after 6th treatment, and 20% no obvious improvement after the first series of treatments. In this case, a second series of 6 treatments was highly recommended.

What conditions are not good candidates for Acoustic Wave Treatment (AWT)?

Prior history of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or blood clotting disorders.
